Rural Society Nepal

Expectations
The project contributes towards improving education opportunities for children, upgrading school infrastructure, enhancing skills and awareness of the remote villagers (including women, dalits and people with a disability) that are involved in agriculture.
This leads to the economic and conceptual empowerment of villagers, which in turn inspires them to take part in different social activities.
The project results in an increase in income and a decrease in the illiteracy rate among disadvantaged people. Poverty can be reduced, conflicts made less frequent and peace more stable.
The purchasing power of the farmers can be raised as the programme teaches them how to market their own products or how to start their own business.
The programme also aims at women, dalits and people with disability (PwDs). They are shown how to better use resources to generate income and how to better control expenses.
More efficiency in farming and in the use of resources (including money) allows the farmers to send their children to school and to pay for school material. More skills and local (self-)employment opportunities reduce the need for youths to leave the villages or even the country to look for a job.
